Help with Gather
Gather is in beta, so you might hit rough edges. Here's how to get help.

Common questions
I can't sign in
Sign in works by email. If a confirmation code or reset email hasn't arrived, give it a minute and check your spam folder. Still stuck, email us and we'll sort it out.
Can people see where I am?
Only in a narrow way. People in your meet can see the starting point you chose on the meet's map. During a live meet on iOS, they see how far along your route you are, a progress figure worked out on your phone: your live location itself never leaves it. There's no background tracking and no location history, and you can turn progress sharing off in Settings under Location and travel. The privacy policy has the full picture.
Location isn't working, or I've denied permission
You only need location if you want to start a meet from where you currently are. If you've denied the permission, you can turn it back on for Gather in your phone's settings, or just pick your home or a saved place as your starting point instead.
I'm not getting notifications
Check that notifications are enabled for Gather in your phone's settings, and that they're turned on in your Gather notification preferences. If both are on and you're still not getting them, email us with your device type so we can dig in.
How does Gather choose where to meet?
Gather works out a fair midpoint from everyone's starting point, then ranks nearby venues by travel time across walking, cycling, and public transport, not just distance on a map. Suggestions are built from third-party map and venue data, so always double check opening hours before you set off.
How do I add friends or create a group?
You can add friends by searching for them in the app, if they've made themselves searchable, and create a group from your friends list to make planning meets with the same people easier next time.
How do I delete my account?
Settings, Account, Delete account. You'll be asked to type "DELETE" to confirm, and then it's a real deletion: your account, locations, photos and notification tokens are removed in one go. Meets you were part of survive for the other people in them, with your name shown as "Deleted user". The privacy policy has the detail.
Reporting a bug or giving feedback
Gather is in beta, so bug reports and feedback are genuinely useful to us. Email support@letsgather.social with what happened, what you expected instead, and your device and app version if you know them. Screenshots help a lot.
