Terms
Terms at Gather
Last updated: 10 August 2026
Gather helps groups of friends find a fair place to meet. These terms are the deal between you and us when you use it. We've kept them short and in plain English: if something here is unclear, tell us and we'll fix the wording.
Gather is run by Freddie Heath, based in the United Kingdom. Questions about these terms, or anything else, go to support@letsgather.social.
The basics
By creating an account or using Gather, you're agreeing to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service. You need to be at least 16 to use Gather.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign in details secure and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us straight away at support@letsgather.social if you think someone else has access to it.
The details you give us, like your display name, should be accurate and shouldn't impersonate anyone else.
What's not ok
Gather is built for real friend groups meeting up. When using it, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other people.
- Misuse anyone's location information, including sharing it outside Gather or using it to track someone without their knowledge.
- Create fake accounts, impersonate someone else, or misrepresent who you are.
- Scrape, crawl, or extract data from Gather beyond your own normal use of the app.
- Interfere with or attempt to disrupt how Gather runs or its security.
We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.
Your ratings and photos
You can rate spots and add photos after a meet. You keep ownership of anything you upload. By uploading it, you give Gather a licence to store, display, and share it within the app with other people, for as long as it stays on the service. Delete it, or delete your account, and that licence ends with it.
You confirm you have the right to upload whatever you upload, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights. We may remove content that breaks these terms, is unlawful, or is reported to us as inaccurate or inappropriate.
Venue suggestions and meeting up
Gather's venue suggestions are built from third-party data, mostly from Google and Mapbox, plus automated scoring, and the short venue descriptions you see are written by AI. Places change, close, and get their opening hours wrong on the internet just as often as anywhere else, so we can't promise a suggestion is accurate, open, accessible, or right for your needs.
When you meet people in person, your safety is your own call. Check a venue is suitable before you go, and use your own judgement about anyone you're meeting.
Gather is in beta
Features may change, appear, or disappear, and we don't guarantee any particular level of uptime or availability. We'll do our best not to break your plans.
Leaving, and being asked to leave
You can stop using Gather any time, and delete your account directly in the app: Settings, Account, Delete account. How deletion works is covered in our privacy policy.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we reasonably believe your account puts Gather or other people at risk. Where practical, we'll tell you why.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't lawfully be limited or excluded under English law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, Gather is provided "as is" during this beta period, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.
Changes
We may update these terms as Gather changes. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it applies. Continuing to use Gather after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
